A perfect base for visiting Lüneburg. The place is romantic and beautifully updated, despite being very old, dating to 1593. There’s no staffed reception, just so you know, though it wasn’t a problem for us.

The self-service breakfast buffet was in the breakfast room, and drinks were available from a stocked fridge on an honor system. This lovingly restored half-timbered house is just outside the town center, with an easy walk into town.

The restored brewery makes a lovely setting, and the rooms and location were great. Breakfast was fine for Lüneburg, though it could be improved with fewer supermarket products and better bread rolls. Otherwise, everything was excellent.
