Ratswaage

The breakfast stood out, with well-prepared and nicely presented German and European favorites, both savory and sweet. The rooms are elegant, roomy, and well furnished, and the heaters worked well. I did find something unpleasant on the nightstand, but reception dealt with it right away. The windows let in both street noise and the city's cold, which was a drawback. The hotel is on one of Magdeburg's most famous streets and works really well for congresses like IFToMM DACH. I'd consider staying here again if I return to Magdeburg.

The room was spacious enough to move around comfortably, unlike some other four- and five-star hotels I've stayed in. Breakfast had plenty of good-quality choices, from vegan and vegetarian food to smoked fish, salmon, sausages, ham, and bouletten. I also enjoyed the spa, with its salt cave, sauna, and swimming pool. The hotel doesn't look like the Ritz from outside, but inside it felt like my personal Ritz. The bar staff kindly kept serving a big group of film producers while we talked about projects late into the evening. The whole team at Ratswaage Hotel was lovely, helpful, and ready to assist with whatever we needed. We had a wonderful stay.

A good hotel with a wide range of amenities.

The rooms are comfortable, though the trams make them quite noisy on that side. Breakfast didn't seem very fresh, and after eating only there I had serious stomach problems. The staff gave me the impression that they're more used to older tourists. It could use some updating to bring it closer to a more modern standard.
