The setting by the lake, with a promenade nearby and restaurants close by, is hard to beat. There are lovely walking routes around the five lakes, through the forest and along the water. You can choose a short or long walk. We did one of 22 km and another of 14 km, and met friendly people walking or cycling along the way. Kiel and Lübeck are close enough for shopping, but we preferred the quiet and relaxation here. Everything ran smoothly and the atmosphere was relaxed, with no stress from guests or staff. Breakfast was fantastic, and there was no need to ask for anything because it was all there, along with perfectly made coffee. In the afternoon, they offer homemade cake and coffee for free. There's also a fridge in the breakfast room with drinks, wine, and snacks. Just take what you want and write down your room number. The rooms were great, whether you choose one with a balcony or terrace or without. Tea and coffee were provided in the room, and the cleaning was perfect. The small pool and sauna were spotless, had free towels, and we used them every day. Parking was easy and free. The other guests seemed to be between 40 and 70. They were very nice, and I can see why many have been coming for years. The price felt too low for the high standard. If you're planning to visit the five lakes, don't hesitate. It's easy to email or call, and they reply quickly with the best prices. With a review like this, rooms may be hard to get. Book days, weeks, or months ahead to be sure. As I said in the headline, just perfect, and too cheap. Book a room now before it's too late!

The breakfast spread was varied, and sitting with a view of the lake made it even nicer. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed. It's a friendly, comfortable family-run place, the sort I wish were easier to find in Germany. I'd happily come back.
