The staff were very nice and the rooms were clean, but I was disappointed by what I was given compared with my booking. The room in the photos looked much better, and instead of a double bed there were twin beds. After I raised it at reception, they moved me to a room closer to what was shown online, though it still had a larger single bed rather than a double. For the price I paid, it felt too expensive. Breakfast cost an extra 7 euro a day, which I found steep for the limited choices, especially since they were the same each day.

The location is great, just a two minute walk from the Deutsch-Bahn and five minutes from the Wasserturm. This is a traditional guesthouse, not especially modern, but it has a rustic charm. The rooms are simple, clean and tidy, just right if you need somewhere to get a good night’s sleep.

The decor has an antique feel, and the place is nice and cosy. The staff were very friendly too. The rooms are cosy as well, and worked perfectly for a stay while I was roaming around the city.

I got the last table when I wandered in after seeing the other Google reviews, so it’s a small place and booking ahead is probably a good idea. The 250g rump steak was cooked perfectly, and came with a wonderful pomegranate salad and balsamic dressing. I had an equally lovely pinot noir with it. The steak and salad were only €26. Great food, service and prices, nothing disappointed.
