Hotel und Gästehaus Seehof

The location was convenient, and they do try to make a stay in Meersburg pleasant, with a Meersburg Karte, Wi-Fi, and a very nice breakfast at their sister hotel, which looks amazing. We stayed two nights with my parents and kids, but I found it difficult as a family and probably wouldn't return. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, but they were dated and very basic. Our family room felt extremely cramped, with nowhere to put things like the kids' toys. The bathroom was so tiny that it really felt suitable for one person at most, not for bathing a young child. We also didn't have a balcony, and the online pictures gave a misleading impression of how much space there was. At checkout, the front desk staff seemed a bit standoffish and asked some strange questions, including the children's birthdays. No one had asked us for that information at other hotels in Germany. The front desk also closes at 8 pm. There was no kettle or cutlery, which we needed as a family. Our TVs only had two channels. Netflix would have been nice for the kids to unwind after a busy day. I'd only stay here if your needs are very basic. They try hard, but it doesn't quite meet today's hotel market.

The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the little port. My husband, our two kids, and I stayed four nights this July and had a fantastic time. Breakfast was served down the street, and the food was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

The room was large and clean, and the breakfast was very good, even though it was served at a nearby hotel. The location is amazing, right by the town centre and lakefront. But the room got very hot in summer. The service was really bad. I've travelled a lot and haven't encountered hotel staff this unfriendly before. More than one staff member was needlessly rude, unhelpful, and even sarcastic, without any provocation. I can understand someone being unfriendly, though I wouldn't expect that in a town that practically lives on tourism, but the sarcasm made no sense. People come for a weekend to relax. When guests pay and behave properly, the last thing they need is grumpy sarcasm and no willingness to help with problems caused by the hotel, like confusing parking, directions to breakfast, or unclear billing. I was very disappointed.

The location was good, near the ferry and with several restaurants and bars close by. But on arrival I was assigned to the Gasthaus, and the booking hadn't made clear that it was a separate building away from the hotel. The room was up three floors on a winding staircase, which might be good exercise but wasn't much else. Parking was about 400m away and came with a cash surcharge. Breakfast was at another location, around 300m away through town. Nobody mentioned the pool and spa at check-in, so I didn't see them. The shower was small, with worn, awkward sliding doors. There was a fan because there was no air conditioning, but its cable was too short to put it anywhere useful.
