Gasthof Schwarz

The room was very warm, and I got plenty of rest. Staff were exemplary, breakfast was generous, and the coffee was good. I was riding from Romania to France and needed a room and somewhere safe to leave the motorcycle overnight without unloading my luggage. I called that morning and booked both for the same night. The garage is close by, across the road and about 50 m up. I’d confidently recommend this hotel to anyone travelling by motorcycle, whether passing through or staying in the area.

Everyone was friendly and pleasant. Highly recommended.

The dessert was disappointing, as it seemed to come from frozen products and didn’t have the freshness of the main dishes. The savory food was better: the Lammmedaillons were tender and flavorful, the Knusperschnitzel von der Pute was good, and the Kartoffel-Feldsalat was a highlight. The Hohenwarter Teufelstoast was decent but nothing special, and the Pommes could have been better. Gasthof Schwarz has a rustic interior and hearty menu that give it an authentic Bavarian feel. Despite the weak finish, the atmosphere and savory dishes make it worth a visit if you’re after a local vibe.

Pretty river views, friendly staff, and a nice breakfast and restaurant. The bathrooms were well stocked too. Getting there without a car or taxi is difficult. I also had trouble paying because my American card didn’t work, so I had to use cash. My room was really hot at the end of August, with no air conditioning or fan. I attended a wedding at the hotel, which was great for the wedding guests, though it would have been noisy for regular guests.
