The welcome from the lovely nanas was nice, and the place was adequate. I've stayed in better, sure, but I've stayed in worse too. It could really use a thorough clean, though I know that costs money. At least the sanitary facilities were usable. Anyone calling this a one-star stay probably hasn't traveled much.

The rooms are bright and spacious, which makes sense if the hostel used to be a school and dormitory for police or train drivers. It has an interesting feel that looks back to East German times, and I think it's good value for the money.

For the price, it's fair enough.

At €20 a night, this place is good value, and it's practically in the center of Meiningen. There's a shared kitchen, plus Wi-Fi throughout the building. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Meiningen.
