It’s a super cute, quiet place in a great location. The church bells across the street do ring, but they aren’t that loud and add to the village’s charm.

The biggest problem was the bill. I paid 140€ per night for a double room as one person, apparently because of how Booking and the property handled the booking together. Be careful about that. The bell tower right next to the hotel rings every quarter, with the bells sounding six times a day from 07:00. There are plenty of better hotels in Meissen, and I won’t be back. The rooms were clean, and most of the staff were more or less friendly, but only one employee spoke English. Breakfast was average. The place is a bit old and needs renovation.

Meißen was lovely, peaceful, and picturesque, and Hotel Residenz am Markt is ideally placed beside the Frauenkirche and its porcelain bells. We had a clean, attractive room, a comfortable bed, and a large bathroom. Service was friendly, and the breakfast buffet was nice, with good coffee. There’s also a nice Café. Highly recommended!

The location is excellent, and the room was clean and spacious, especially the bathroom. The beds felt too hard for me.
