A2 Boarding House Memmingen

It works better for a short stay. The hotel isn’t especially close to downtown, and the only nearby food option is a pizza restaurant. There’s a kitchen in the room, though it has just the basic utensils. Check-in is fully automated, and figuring out the rather involved door system for both the room and main entrance takes a while. The website advertises lower rates for stays over a month, but that didn’t match our experience: they may say there’s a long waiting list and refuse the discount even when plenty of rooms seem available.

The room was big and comfortable for three, and the kitchen had all the appliances we needed. The pin-based self check-in was really convenient, and town was about a 15-minute walk away. The bedroom floor could use a deeper clean, but we had a great stay.

Clean and good for a few days, though I wouldn’t pick it for a longer stay. The kitchen has only the bare basics, so regular cooking would be difficult.

The room itself was spacious, very clean and had really comfortable beds, plus a small kitchen. The arrival was another story. At night, the check-in system wasn’t fully translated into English and the German instructions were misleading. We also couldn’t see our room from the other doors, and it was tucked behind a door with no sign saying rooms were accessed through it. Things got off to a rough start, but the place turned out to be very good, reasonably priced and close to the airport if you have transport.
