Breakfast was a highlight, with loads of fresh options, and the friendly staff made me feel at home. The hotel has only 18 rooms, each with a balcony or terrace, a free safe, and free Wi-Fi. The signal is good, although the uplink drops out now and then. You're on vacation, so it didn't bother me much. Rooms are cleaned daily and kept shiny. There's no minibar in the room, but you can use the shared fridge on the ground floor. Drinks, ice cream, and chips are sold there at normal prices. For stays longer than two nights, you get a Hochschwarzwald card. It includes free access to the swimming pool across the road and can also be used at other sights in the area. A great place to stay if you're visiting nearby.

The location made getting to the SPA centre and bike rental shop easy, just a two-minute walk across the road. The hotel also provides a 'Blackforest' card, which includes free entry to the SPA, pool, and jacuzzi, plus free afternoon bike rentals, nearby lake boat rides, cable car rides, and access to practically all attractions in the Blackforest region. We spent nine relaxing days at Hotel Silberfelsen, Menzenschwand - Sant Blasien, on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The couple who run the small hotel were welcoming and friendly. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable, and breakfast was appetising.
