Old Hüsung (MUZ328)

The beach, castle and shops are nearby, and I liked the area. The apartment itself had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the showers and toilets were clean. But there was dust and dirt in the corners, along with dusty artificial flowers throughout. The kitchen was homemade, with a crooked shelf. The listed playground was disappointing: its homemade equipment included a sandbox full of grass and dog feces, with sand that looked like it hadn’t been replaced in ages. The trampoline had holes in the middle and in the net and should be taken down. Bicycles were under the carport, but there was no information about renting them. The carport was dusty and dirty, the plastic chairs filthy, and the yard neglected. A full bucket with a barbecue bag and cigarette butts had been left beneath the carport.

We really liked the holiday apartments. It was our first visit, and we’re sure we’ll come back.

The street noise was the biggest problem. Cars and trucks thunder down the cobblestones at what feels like at least 60 km/h, even though it’s meant to be a 30 km/h zone. That made quiet nights and a peaceful stay impossible, and it was really annoying and not restful. The apartment has what you need, and the housekeeper was friendly, but the couch is tiny and not somewhere to relax in the evening.

The people were friendly, and it’s peaceful here aside from the cars and trailers rumbling through until 1 a.m. every night. That noise was quite disruptive. I also think washing facilities should be a basic standard these days, but there don’t seem to be any. There’s no Wi-Fi either, which adds to the Stone Age feeling. I stayed for a week, but wouldn’t put myself through another visit to this desolate place.
