We had a really good cheese platter and tasty bread, even though we arrived between meal times and hadn't had lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were there for one night for a nearby wedding, and the price was excellent. We didn't even use the kitchen in our apartment, and it would have been a good deal even as a hotel. It's close to Mannheim, with great hiking nearby. Handy for travellers from outside the eurozone: they accept card or cash, even for small amounts. Highly recommend staying here.

I celebrated my 60th birthday here with 15 family members and friends, with dinner, an overnight stay, and the party room. The room had lovely sunflowers for an August birthday, and the table for 15 was beautifully set. There's enough space for both eating and dancing; the owners helped us set up a speaker and lighting. We booked the whole guesthouse, and everyone said their rooms and apartments were clean, with private bathrooms, comfortable beds, and windows that open for fresh air. The regional food was delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced. The Mederer family, who own Zur Mühle, were friendly and professional throughout, and easy to reach by phone and email. I'd highly recommend it for celebrations or a trip to the Odenwald region.

The south-facing balcony has a lovely green view and an awning, and you barely notice the road from this side. The holiday apartment is spacious, nicely equipped, and a good base for the southern Odenwald region. The beds were a little too soft, but breakfast was excellent and great value.
