Zur Burg Eltz

My husband Mike and I stayed here overnight in July for our first wedding anniversary. The owners were so friendly and accommodating, and really went out of their way to make us happy. Their restaurant serves delicious food at a fair price. A wonderful, quaint B&B. We’ll be back and would highly recommend it.

We were glad we stopped here after visiting Eltz Castle. The Gulasch was fantastic, the best I’ve had, and the Potato pancake was wonderful too. Two people in our party ordered Bigos and really liked it, and the Pierogi was very good as well.

As a solo traveler, I found this one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at compared with places in the main cities, despite having read so many bad reviews. They forgot the towels in our rooms, which was a shame, but the bed was good and the homemade pizza deserves five stars. The staff were great, especially the lady with glasses, who was really accommodating. I loved the hotel and the community. I think travelers should understand the community before leaving bad ratings. I’ll definitely come back, though I need to learn German first.

The town is beautiful and quaint, and Burg Eltz is about an hour's walk away. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast, and also found a room available in the gasthaus above the restaurant and bar. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, Natalie, one of the owners, made us feel as though we were being welcomed home. We were visiting Germany from Virginia.
