Waldhaus Mühlenbeck

Great.

The service was okay.

There was plenty of breakfast, and the filter coffee was excellent. The whole team deserves thanks. This is a nice bed-and-breakfast, with very comfortable beds and rooms roomy enough even for Smiley’s dog bed. The bathroom was a little small, but still fine.

We were quite happy with our room during our two nights at Hotel Waldhaus. It had a bathtub and a large bed, with enough space for a small family. A kettle and hairdryer were available on request, and there was a small fridge in the hallway. The trouble was that the mattresses were very soft and uncomfortable for us. The hotel is surrounded by greenery and has a lovely setting, but it’s not ideal without a car. The standard breakfast was adequate, and Waldhaus Hotel seems well suited to a short stay. The owner made an effort to please guests, but her occasional snide comments about requests made her seem unfriendly and bothered us. When we asked for a little more Nutella, for instance, she asked if it was gone again. She also said she could lend us an iron “if necessary.” We were given some wrong information too: we were told to book a taxi two days ahead because otherwise it couldn’t come to the hotel. In practice, getting a taxi was no problem, even at night.
