Griesbräu zu Murnau

The service was so good, everyone was friendly, helpful and clearly cared about how our visit went. I’d happily come back. The brewery beer was some of the best I’ve ever tried, and the wurst and pretzel appetizer is well worth ordering.

After a week of trying different places on our vacation, this was easily our best meal. The food choices won me over, and there’s a really good beer selection too. Bring cash, though. Our American credit card wouldn’t work here, even though the three different cards we tried had worked elsewhere locally. We’d go back in a heartbeat, just without having to walk to an ATM after ordering.

The brewery tour with the brewmaster was a highlight. It was fun and informative to see how the beer is made, and tasting it fresh while learning about the process made it even better. The brewmaster’s knowledge and enthusiasm kept it engaging. There’s a broad beer range, from familiar styles to seasonal creations, all brewed on-site. The freshness and care for quality and tradition come through in every glass. The food was just as memorable, with hearty Bavarian dishes and beautifully roasted meats, full of bold, authentic flavors. Griesbräu zu Murnau also has a warm, lively feel. The rustic décor and buzz of diners make it easy to settle in. It’s a place for the food, the beer and the story behind the brewing, and we left smiling with a new appreciation for Bavarian beer culture. If you’re nearby, it’s well worth a stop.

I’m only reviewing the restaurant. The Bavarian food is very good quality and the prices are reasonable. Inside, it’s clean and orderly, with a nice mix of traditional and modern touches. Their own beer is always on tap and tastes great. The staff were attentive and friendly, though it can get really busy. Highly recommended!
