Disgusting place. Avoid it.

The breakfast buffet is a real highlight, and it's included in the price. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and our room was very clean with a comfortable bed. It's a lovely hotel, though a bit remote, so you'll want a car or bike. Altharlingersiel doesn't have places to eat, but the hotel has a large guest fridge for anyone who'd rather not go out. We can highly recommend it.

We only stayed two nights, which was enough for us. The price was reasonable and the owners were friendly, but we couldn't have put up with that smell any longer. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, though the furniture was dated and some of it was broken. There was a musty odor in the room all the time, and a strong chlorine smell in the bathroom that didn't go away when we aired it out. There were cobwebs and large cracks on the walls, water stains on the hallway ceiling, and the outdoor areas looked neglected. Breakfast was adequate, and we went down right at 8 a.m. People often mention the hallway refrigerators, but we didn't want to put our lactose-free coffee milk in one because it wasn't very clean. The location was okay, with plenty of parking at the hotel, but there wasn't anything happening in the village itself.

We had everything we needed during our two-day stay and were very happy with it. Breakfast was great, and the two owners provided excellent service. The value for money is fantastic, so it's an affordable stay. I'd highly recommend it, and we'll definitely return.
