Hotel Wittorf

The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help. Most spoke English, which was useful for us Americans. Our room had been renovated, the linens were particularly nice, and it became very dark at night, so sleeping was good. Breakfast, which was included, was quite nice. The hotel is aging but generally looked after, and there's secure bike storage tucked into a back courtyard. We stayed one night in mid-September 2023, and since we were cycling, the location outside the city centre was manageable. There isn't much within easy walking distance apart from perhaps the outlet mall. It was warm in our second floor room, and there's no air conditioning. The staff found a small fan that helped make it comfortable. Because of the heat we had to keep the windows open, and then we could hear the steady hum of traffic on the nearby road. The WiFi was unreliable. Also, people, including staff, smoked around the hotel grounds, which made it unpleasant for us non-smokers to use the outdoor space.

The rooms are very nice, but the service brought the rating down. It was 33 degrees outside, and there was no fan or ventilation available. There wasn't even a phone in the room. Breakfast was a disaster, with lots of fruit flies over the food and fruit. After the staff went home in the evening, the internet was turned off even though it was meant to be included. The patio looked cosy, but once we opened the balcony door there were cobwebs everywhere, including over the neighbor's balcony. At this nightly price, I can't recommend it.

We were travelling back to the UK on a motorbike and needed somewhere with food on site, so this worked really well for us. Our meal was fantastic and the service was brilliant. The room was really clean and spacious, with an outside door and a table and chairs where we could cool off. The staff were friendly too. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you want a clean place to stay.

Breakfast was really good, and it's great that they accept dogs. If you have a dog, you can eat breakfast in your room. The service was nice, the room was big and had a small terrace, and the bathroom was nice. Comfortable bed too. I highly recommend it.
