We felt right at home in the apartment. It was clean and practical, with a double bed in a separate room and two fold-out beds in the main space. There was also a balcony, plus a pool, sauna, and some toys for children downstairs. The man who handed us the key was very friendly and explained everything carefully.

It’s a quiet place to stay, with a little pool, sauna, and a few things for kids to do, like table tennis, air hockey, and foosball. The building is a renovated 1970s property from the period of border-zone subsidies and the tourism boom in the Bavarian Forest. It’s showing its age, but it’s fine. Our apartment was furnished like a two- or three-star holiday apartment, though very clean and well priced. The receptionist was very friendly. Getting the key on a weekend was a bit tricky at first. A good base for excursions and hikes.
