The lady who greeted us on Friday afternoon seemed very unmotivated. She barely spoke to us, and her short answers made for a harsh welcome. That did make me laugh, though. The hotel really needs an upgrade, especially during peak season when events like wine festivals are on. Neustadt needs a better hotel. Our room, 524, had a completely worn-out mattress that scraped against the bed. The furniture and rooms are old and outdated, and the tiny bathroom needs attention too. Some rooms have Sky TV, which is a nice extra, but it would be better if it worked. In ours, we couldn't watch regular TV either.

I had to find another hotel so I could get more sleep before a long drive. At 7 am, while I was still asleep, workers started drilling into the wall of my room, and someone's hand came through the air conditioner. It was very strange and creepy. The email they'd sent beforehand only said, 'in june we have some work on the air-conditioners.' They didn't fully refund me, and the staff didn't seem to care.

The hotel is about 1.3 km from the historical center. The room was comfortable and had a bathtub instead of a shower, though the furniture was complete but quite obsolete. Fresh food was available at the breakfast buffet, but the choices weren't quite what I wanted. Wide windows made both the room and breakfast room bright, with a pleasant view of the green surrounding hills.

Mohammed at the front desk made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived in Germany. He was attentive and made sure everything about my stay went well. I had a wonderful experience at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling in Germany.

Service was mediocre at best, and the room rate felt far too high for the property. The place is old, tired, and outdated, and needs a complete renovation. The bathroom looks like it's from the 70s, and having to shower in a bathtub with no curtain wasn't good. Ventilation was poor, and noise insulation from both inside and outside was extremely bad.
