Hotel Heidler

We had a very friendly welcome, and the beds were comfortable. The location worked perfectly for our hike along the Saxon Wine Trail. We stayed for one night and would love to come back. Thanks so much!

The conversations with the owner were the best part. Such a warm, welcoming person. We walked to the vineyards and to a nearby tractor festival, and the village itself is lovely and quiet. Hotel Heidler felt just right for getting away from everyday life for a bit. We’ll be back, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it for that kind of break. If you want luxury, the newly built apartment blocks may suit you better, but they won’t have this same warmth and hospitality. We booked a night at short notice and got the upstairs apartment. It was very small and not great for tall people, though still cozy. It was clean, we slept well, and breakfast was good. We weren’t looking for luxury anyway.

It’s best to call the hotel ahead of time and ask about service, prices, amenities, location, dining options, and anything else you want to know. Booking through Booking.com or HRS will cost quite a bit more, since their 15% commission is included in the room price and passed on to you. According to the reviewer, genuine reviews from people who have actually stayed at Hotel Heidler are only on Booking.com and HRS. They say anyone can post nonsense on Google, whether they’re a friend, competitor, or someone who’s envious.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and they provided a shuttle to the wine festival. The hotel was clean, though dated, and the breakfast was okay. Our price was reasonable, but we’d paid no more at newer hotels in Dresden and Leipzig. The carpet had stains from the toilet seat and glasses, and the mattresses were worn out. When two friends tested positive and couldn’t travel, the hotel offered no compensation. Other hotels offered similar solutions.
