Hotel Pfeffermühle

I stayed here for a week and a half on a work trip. The rooms are tidy rather than fancy, and the prices seemed reasonable to me. It's a normal family hotel with a good restaurant, a nice steak selection for the location, and good ice cream. Breakfast is a small selection, but there was always enough: coffee, juice, toast, ham and the like. It's a good place to sleep and visit the area. There is free parking out front, a small elevator, and three floors. Each floor has a mini kitchen with drinks and a few things like cups, forks, and spoons, so you can make something light if you bring supplies. If you're a light sleeper and want the windows open in summer, bring earplugs. The main village road climbs uphill, so cars go by in lower gears at higher RPM. Paderborn downtown is about 10 minutes away by car. You can visit the city centre and the tractor museum.

We have relatives nearby, so we've used the hotel facilities at the Pfeffermuhle and eaten at the restaurant even when we didn't need a room. The accommodation and food are second to none, and the staff are friendly and efficient. We'll come back when we're in the area again in a few months.

It's a very nice place to stay. Just be aware that the Wi-Fi signal in your room may be almost nonexistent.

This is the first hotel in Germany where we've felt at home. The owners were absolutely perfect.
