The ice on the way to reception made getting in and out dangerous. I spent four days slipping around on it and was lucky not to get hurt. We had an 88-year-old with us, so I had to turn around at the edge of the ice each time to let the passengers out by the emergency path. The owner eventually put down a bag of de-icer to make a route from the sidewalk to the entrance, but we had raised the problem several times before that and the icy area still wasn't dealt with. Hotels know winter comes every year, so they should have de-icing supplies ready. It was especially worrying for older guests and people recovering from hip replacements. Breakfast in the ice cream parlor and pizzeria was just about bearable, but the old buildings weren't heated well and we had to dress warmly. The pizzeria's atmosphere wasn't good either. A breakfast room could have been included in the extension plans, but apparently the architect didn't think of it. In the evenings, a strong garlic smell from the pizzeria ventilation filled the hallways and clung to everything; after walking through once, it all needed cleaning. We won't spend money there again.
