Pension Nordsee

The location was okay, and the shower was new. Those were about the only positives for me. The room was dirty, very noisy, and really warm even though it was only 21 degrees outside. I kept bumping my head on the sloping roof, the TV was acting up, and the lamp was coming loose from the ceiling. Breakfast was horrible: just Netto rolls, carelessly thrown together, and there weren’t any rolls when we arrived. They saw that and still didn’t refill them, even though we got there early enough. The staff weren’t exactly friendly either. My tip is, don’t book there. It was horrible.

The owners are friendly, and there’s plenty of varied food at breakfast. The bathroom has been newly renovated, though the sink is small. The house itself needs renovation. It’s fine for a short break if you like things simple and don’t have high expectations.

The room and breakfast were the worst parts of an already miserable stay. The wallpaper was filthy and torn, the laminate was battered, and the stained walls looked untouched since the 1980s. Breakfast was poor, with supermarket food, grimy cereal dispensers, and a sticky sugar container. The room itself smelled like a damp, musty basement. The bathroom was the one tolerable part, but it couldn't make up for the rest. Outside, Pension Nordsee looked just as neglected, with overflowing ashtrays, rubbish, and no sense of comfort. It's on a busy main road, including in the evenings. We were also charged an undisclosed tourist tax on top of a Booking.com reservation. A hairdryer was offered for a €10 deposit, but we passed after seeing the condition of the place. We seriously thought about leaving early. Anyone who expects basic cleanliness, comfort, and a welcoming place should steer clear.

We had a really lovely week at Pension Nordsee. Breakfast was made with care and had plenty to choose from, and parking in the courtyard was easy and convenient. It's also a handy base for a North Sea holiday, with the sea and harbor among the places you can walk to. Many thanks, we had a beautiful stay and would gladly recommend it.
