Robbe Norden in Norden

The location is really central, but we were uncomfortable in the apartment and spent most of our time out. It felt very unhygienic. The bathroom lamp had flies and moths inside, there were silverfish on the floor, and the shower kept switching between hot and cold. The kitchen was dirty, smelled awful because of a bin outside its window, and we even saw cockroaches 🪳 (photo available). There’s no dishwasher, and the dishes were all mixed together, with no matching cups. I don’t know how people are meant to wash them by hand. I wouldn’t cook there with my clothes on. The bedrooms were okay, though I’d bring my own bedding next time. The furnishings are dated, and we didn’t unpack our bags. The apartment itself looked nice, but it wasn’t properly clean, so I don’t understand what the final cleaning fee is for. We won’t book again. I’m just glad we’re going home tomorrow. Really not recommended.

A football pitch is right beside the house, which some people may find annoying. The garden and entrance are badly overgrown, and the grass needs cutting. Inside, the place feels old, and the leather is peeling from both living room sofas. The furnishings could use an update. There’s no dishwasher in the kitchen, which didn’t bother us, but might be an issue for someone else. What really put us off was the heavy silverfish infestation on the first floor. We wouldn’t rent this place again.

We had a really enjoyable seven days at the Robbe holiday home. It’s in a quiet cul-de-sac, with no through traffic, and Norddeich harbor is about a five-minute walk away. There’s plenty of room for six people. The kitchen has everything you need, and the living area includes a TV and a small stereo. It’s very well furnished, and we didn’t find anything lacking.

The garden is neglected, and inside the apartment several things are broken or unusable. The dishes are all jumbled together, the couch is brittle and coming apart, and the mattresses seem to be made of foam.
