The best thing about Haus Coordes, apartment No.6, was being right by the dunes. We spent a week there. The apartment was small but enough for us, clean and well furnished. That was about all we liked. The parking situation was frustrating. The listing specifically mentioned parking spaces, but there weren't enough. On arrival, we left our car in an empty space and Frau Schröder rudely told us at key pickup that we couldn't park there. We had to use a public car park. That wouldn't have been a big deal if the listing hadn't mentioned parking. Later arrivals were allowed to park there. Frau Schröder came across as arrogant and condescending, unlike anyone we've met at a key handover. We weren't greeted or welcomed, and she didn't even ask about our journey. Several other guests at the house also told us she'd been unfriendly to them. There was a tiny, flimsy drying rack shared by apartments 5 and 6. It seemed there wasn't even money from the rent to replace it or provide a second one. The pillows also had no protective covers, which made us feel like that wasn't considered important. Norderney, yes, but we would never rent through this agency again.

We wouldn't book this apartment again. The place was much more worn than the photos suggested, and for the price it badly needs renovating. The front door rattles and every movement from the neighbors carries through. The landlady was extremely rude and unfriendly, and when problems came up she wasn't very willing to help or find a solution. That wasn't much of a welcome.

The location was the one clear plus: Haus Cordes is close to the beach and it's easy to get into town. We spent a week there, and the apartment was clean and functional, but sparsely and poorly furnished. Several areas badly need work, especially the tired bathroom, parts of the kitchen cupboards, and the light switches and outlets. The walls could use fresh paint too. That's particularly frustrating with holiday prices so high. The property management did what was required, but didn't seem especially customer-focused. Two stars only for the location.

The building is in a very good spot if you want a quiet stay away from the city. But apartment number 6 was run-down and not worth the price, and it wasn't clean. The lovely photos in the listing were out of date, and despite what the description said, there was no microwave. The owners seem to be trying to keep it up, but it needs to be brought back to standard. Please invest in the apartment so guests can enjoy it and feel they've got value for their money. I wouldn't book it again.
