Georg Rass Gästehaus

Breakfast was sensational, with homemade bread, jams, fresh Bircher muesli, and all kinds of homemade treats. There was something for everyone. I’d love the recipe for that amazing cinnamon quark! The mattresses were excellent, too, and our room was spotless. Each day they provided a carafe of fresh infused water. We had a wonderful stay at the Georg Rass guesthouse on Norderney. It’s a small, charming place in a central spot, with the beach just a short walk up the street. We could even see the sea from our room. The house blends old and new, and the rooms are furnished with attention to detail. Highly recommended. Thanks for a wonderful time, Mr. Schrade. We’d love to come back!

A small but excellent guesthouse that we can highly recommend. We spent a long weekend at Gästehaus Rass and felt at ease throughout. The welcome was very friendly, and the staff were warm and accommodating. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and charmingly furnished. Breakfast left nothing to be desired. We especially enjoyed the fresh homemade bread, jams, and quark dishes. In the afternoon, the house had mulled wine and gingerbread for guests, a lovely touch for the cold season. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We’d be happy to return.

We were at Gästehaus Rass for a week in early September. The location is very central, in the inner zone, close to the Kurhaus, good restaurants, and lovely shops. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, but the two tall chairs and table were uncomfortable, and there wasn’t a cozy place to sit. Carrying our suitcases up the stairs to the room was tiring. Breakfast ran from 8:00 -10:00. When we came down around 8:30 -8:45, the cold cuts and cheese platters looked sparse, and they were only replenished a little, or when asked. The choices were always the same, too. After having Matjes three or four times, we would have liked some salmon. The server was very nice, while the innkeeper was quite reserved. But Norderney is lovely.

The buffet was beautifully set out, with homemade bread, cakes, spreads, cinnamon quark, granola bars, fish salads, and more. You could tell the owners put their heart into it. There was such a positive feel to the place, and the welcome was warm and friendly. A big THANK YOU again. The Georg Rass guesthouse is full of charming details, from the rooms to the stairwell, and they leave a carafe of lemon water each day. It’s near both the beach and the town center.
