Villa Breeksee

The room was great, and the fruit at breakfast was tasty, but plant based choices were scarce. For bread, there was only jam and tomatoes. It's a shame, because otherwise we would have eaten elsewhere. Don't bother pre-checking in, since you have to write everything down again 😕

At over €200 a night, we wouldn't book this room again. The toilet was a serious problem: in the tiny bathroom, anyone over 1.78 m has to sit at an angle, and it's so low that people with limited mobility could have trouble getting back up. The shower, at least, was pleasantly roomy. The attic room gets very hot, even in late summer, and there's no air conditioning. There was no coffee or tea maker either, and the floor creaked. On the plus side, the retro neo-60s style, cleanliness, location, and OK breakfast buffet were good. Despite its small size, the bed was easy to get to.

We had a great week, and that's what matters. From the top floor, the sea view was breathtaking, and breakfast was plentiful with plenty of choice. The small rooms are nicely furnished, and though the bathroom is even smaller, it was spotless and had what we needed. Most staff were attentive and very friendly. A few weren't, but you can ignore them 😉

The attic rooms get unbearably hot in summer, so I really wouldn't recommend them then. There's a sauna between 3 p.m. and sunset, and no air conditioning. Apart from that, the staff were very friendly, service was great, and the place was clean, well maintained, and well equipped. Breakfast was extensive.
