It’s a very peaceful spot for anyone after simple, relaxing accommodation, without expecting a big hotel. The food is freshly made, and you can tell. The older building is clean and well kept, with a real sense of history, almost like stepping back in time.

We had a great time and will be back! We ate at the Hotel zur Post as a group of 10, and the salads, starters, and main dishes came quickly and tasted great. Regina was super friendly, as was the host. When we asked about getting a taxi in Nordhausen, she took care of it straight away, and the host booked two rides for us. Top-notch service!

We felt very comfortable here. The breakfast was generous, and the food came in plentiful portions with lots to choose from at a reasonable price. It’s a cozy hotel, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

We had a wonderful week and met some lovely people in the tavern. The owner and staff were attentive and made us feel comfortable. The meals were delicious and plentiful, and breakfast had plenty of choice. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished, and had fresh linens. The bathroom and shower were clean too.

The food was delicious, though there were hardly any vegetarian choices. Service was friendly and quick, but the owner seemed to be having a bad day. He didn’t seem particularly courteous or friendly at check-in or at breakfast the next morning. We needed a bit more to feel comfortable and didn’t really feel welcome as guests.
