The room was clean and cozy, and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The owner who welcomed us on Friday also served breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and he was incredibly friendly 😊. This small hotel is centrally located but still pleasantly quiet. We enjoyed our stay 😊. Sandra and Sebastian M. from Lübeck, Friday, March 6th, 2026 to Sunday, March 8th, 2026. If you're after peace, a restful break, and a comfortable place to sleep, this hotel is a good fit.

Pension Morsum made a good base for our ten nights, whether we wanted to bike, walk, or go shopping. The rooms were clean and practical, and breakfast had a good variety and plenty to eat. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, as you'd expect. We had a nice stay and plan to return.

The quiet away from city bustle is the best thing about Hotel Garni Morsum on Nordstrand. My wife and I have stayed in plenty of hotels at this age, some better than others, and this one wasn't for us. The host seemed to handle everything, from concierge duties to cooking and cleaning. He was polite but quiet, perhaps typical of a Frisian, and never told me his name. We got a short explanation about the cold drinks, breakfast room, and schedule, then walked through the conservatory to our apartment. The photos had led us to expect more. The room, small bathroom, and kitchenette looked clean, but everything felt dated and a little worn. The shower step is high, the shower is cramped for taller people, its head badly needs replacing, the toilet seat was loose, and the sink tap needs attention. The bed had a roughly 18 cm mattress on an unusual setup and an unsprung wooden slatted base, so it wasn't very comfortable. The room window faces the neighbor's apartment, and neither it nor the small bathroom window has a mosquito screen. We dealt with gnats and mosquitoes every day when trying to air the room. There was a flat screen TV with satellite reception, but the Wi-Fi was very poor. A basic, inexpensive extender might help. The apartment's supposedly separate entrance actually went through the hotel entrance, the breakfast conservatory, and over a terrace. If the flowers were tied back, the path would be clear instead of brushing against them and getting trousers dirty. When terrace chairs are provided, a quick morning wipe to keep them clean and dry would help. Breakfast was mostly acceptable. Coffee came from a thermos, tea was available, and there were the usual cold cuts, cheeses, salads, yogurt, muesli, simple rolls, bread, orange nectar, and a spread. We only saw one kind of roll during our stay. I can't comment on the salads, cold cuts, or cheese, but the spread was unrecognizable and impossible to identify. I've rarely eaten anything so unpleasant, and I know this sort of food as a cook. Freshly cooked eggs were offered every morning and prepared and presented with care. The salt shaker on our table gave a general impression of how food was handled. Each day I hoped the host would notice little things like that, but he didn't, and it said a lot. Other reviewers seem to have been happy, but we weren't and won't repeat the stay.

As I see it, this is a bed and breakfast. The owner gave us a quick introduction when we arrived, and after that we were left to figure things out ourselves. We could have asked about breakfast, but didn't. You have to understand North Germans. The apartment could use some renovation, though the location is a very good base for exploring northern Germany.
