NH Collection Nürnberg City - newly renovated

The staff were friendly and efficient throughout, and the hotel made an excellent conference venue. I was there for two nights for a conference and arrived mid-morning, well before check-in, but thankfully a room was ready. It was large, spotlessly clean, and had a nice bathroom. The decor was quite bland, but fine for a business trip. The bar was pleasant, with reasonable prices for a smart hotel. A U-Bahn station is just a few minutes away on foot, making the airport quick and cheap to reach. The old town begins about a 10-minute walk away, and the location is great.

I’d travelled 16 hours from the western US and reached my room around 10am, exhausted. Unfortunately, it was next to loud construction. When I called reception, the man asked, “Do you expect me to stop them from working?” I was furious and asked for the manager. She came upstairs, and I had to move rooms. The replacement was a handicapped room, which would have been fine if the cold-water control on the shower hadn’t been broken. Imagine a disabled person sitting on the shelf and getting hit with scalding water. Why hadn’t it been repaired, especially in a handicapped room? I worked reception for 10 years in the US, and there’s no excuse for either incident. I’d like to hear what the G.M. has to say.

I really liked the green stay option. We could skip having the room freshened up and get a free drink at the bar instead. The hotel was very nice, the staff were both friendly and competent, and the wellness area was great. Breakfast was lovely too.

The common area has board games and a puzzle, the breakfast is great, and the staff are friendly. It’s a modern hotel close to the center. The room could use more light, as it was quite dark even with every light on. Also, the opaque window between the room and bathroom was annoying. If one person used the bathroom, the light coming through kept the other from falling asleep.
