Leonardo Hotel Nürnberg

The rooms were gorgeous and roomy, and breakfast was excellent. With the hotel right in the city center beside Nuremberg central train station, the location couldn’t be better. A great stay, absolutely.

The restaurant area is fantastic. The only downside I noticed was the location, if you look closely at details like the view. Reception was very friendly, and they had a room and the other necessary items ready for us within five minutes of check-in. The rooms and service were good too.

The location is close to downtown, though the rooms are a bit worn by now. Staff are friendly until you need something done. My sheets weren’t changed for more than four nights. When I asked for the room to be cleaned, they just tidied it with the same sheets. After the sixth night I had to repeat the request over and over, and I was really pissed off. I stayed in my room until someone came up and changed the sheets and cover.

The receptionists were kind and friendly, and seemed ready to handle all kinds of guest requests. My room was clean enough, and I appreciated the complimentary bottle of water. The chair, though, often made a terrible noise whenever I moved while sitting, and I could hear similar noises from neighboring rooms, which could get annoying. I also had a problem with some cheese I left in the hotel fridge. There was no way to keep it cool in the room, so I asked reception to store a plastic bag with 11 packages. I got the bag back just before leaving, but later found that two packages were missing. Maybe they slipped out when the receptionist took the bag from the fridge and were left there. Even if they’re still in the fridge, I’ve already left the city and can’t collect them. I wanted them as souvenirs for family and friends, but that’s no longer possible, so the hotel can consume them. A small fridge in each guest room might prevent this kind of trouble.
