DAS Posch Hotel

The welcoming, helpful staff and fresh, tasty breakfast made this a great value hotel in Oberammergau. Breakfast starts at 6.30, which we appreciated. Our room had a nice view and balcony, and we even went for a swim despite the cool weather. It's a pleasant walk into the center. We can definitely recommend it!

We loved the room and bathroom, the peaceful hotel grounds, and the fresh mountain air. It was an easy walk downtown to browse the stores and see the intricately painted houses. A Bavaria Band was playing at the American Football field, which was a real joy. This night was one of the highlights of our three-week trip through Europe. Booking by email with Tanya was easy, and she was excellent. We didn't have to provide a credit card to hold the room, unlike at the other hotels on our trip. If the owner is reading this, Tanya is a gem and a big part of the hotel's hospitality.

We originally booked one night because we wanted to visit a nearby city, but the hotel was so lovely that we returned the next day after our visit. The place was incredibly clean, breakfast was amazing, and the people were lovely. We felt very safe, loved the town and everything around the hotel, and hope to come back next year. I recommend it a million times!

We stopped for lunch, though we'd unfortunately booked our overnight stay somewhere else. The surroundings were lovely, and the service came with a warm welcome and a smile. The menu was concise, but the food was very good, and I got the impression they'd accommodate requests where possible. The restaurant was clean, tidy, and smartly designed, and everything worked. We left wishing we'd booked our rooms here too.
