After long days skiing, I really appreciated the hotel’s mini spa. Even though the hotel was busy, the spa stayed pleasantly uncrowded and was open for extended hours. The food was delicious, especially the salmon and sparkling wine on Sunday. Staff were caring, friendly, and did their jobs exceptionally well. I was also grateful to be able to use the hotel facilities after check-out, so I could make the most of my last day before my flight. I’m looking at the hotel from a nordic skier’s perspective. The location was excellent, just 30 meters from the ski tracks, with the marathon centre and finish very close by.

We’re spending our last night at Parkhotel Sonnehof after five nights over Christmas, and it’s been such a warm, inviting stay. We come from a very small town in Australia, and you can really feel that this is a family business. The effort put into Christmas was amazing, with traditional touches and a full program of food, events, and activities that guests could choose from at their leisure. The catering for every meal was just amazing. The rooms are traditional in style and have what you need without anything extra. Around town, there are beautiful walks by running rivers, historic buildings, and gorgeous boutiques. We can’t recommend this stay enough.

We stayed here with family during an Alpine tour in 2022. The morning view was breathtaking, and the rooms were comfortable with excellent service throughout. It was also an easy walk to central Oberammergau and the Passion play theater, which we went to see.
