The owner was happy to chat and made the stay feel personal. He even offered to cook me dinner when none of the restaurants in town were open, and in the morning I could make as many sandwiches as I wanted to take on the trail. Breakfast was generous too, with warm rolls, three fried eggs per person, cold cuts, raw vegetables, muesli, tea and coffee. I also loved having a big bathtub to soak in after hiking. I was walking the Harz Witches' Trail in winter, and this hotel was perfectly placed along the route. Other nearby villages had rooms for over €100 a night. I arrived a bit late for check-in, but the owner waited for me. He clearly cares about his guests. I'd highly recommend staying here. :)

We stayed for three weeks and it was well worth it. The parking area is spacious, and breakfast was generous, with special requests taken care of readily. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and you really feel like the guest comes first. I would book here again and recommend it.

The welcome was incredibly warm, and the room was large and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was wonderful, and they were glad to accommodate special requests. I first picked this hotel for its location, but I'd come back for the lovely owner and host.

The service was excellent, and we were treated with real hospitality. It's a traditional hotel with a long history, and the building has a nostalgic charm. Our room was clean and practically furnished.

We first stopped by while looking for a parking space and ended up chatting with the staff, who were so attentive and friendly. The place was neat and clean. It feels like time has deliberately stood still here, and we loved the charm and felt very comfortable. We'll definitely stay here again this winter or next year. Highly recommended! 😊👍🏻
