There are shops nearby, and parking is available both in front of the house and behind it. The hostess was always cheerful, very friendly, and accommodating. The room had everything I needed: a large bed with a soft mattress, a shower room with a new toilet, TV, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, Wi-Fi, wardrobe, table, phone, and a cupboard with plates and cutlery. The room was perfectly adequate. But see for yourself, as always.

I slept opposite the kitchen, so the noise there disturbed me a bit. If you sleep deeply, though, you probably won't notice the fridge or water heater. The welcome was wonderfully friendly, and I was often asked if I needed anything. The holiday home was very clean and tidy. My one star off is for the worn mattresses.

Breakfast can be brought right to your room, or the owner can hang just the rolls on your door if that's what you prefer. I've stayed at Pension Haus Mückenheim many times and always enjoy coming back for the family feel, cozy atmosphere, clean and lovely rooms, and good service. The rooms have satellite TV and a phone, while the holiday home has a wood-burning stove and a lovely view over the Rappbode Valley. At this price, you shouldn't expect the exclusivity of a 5-star hotel, but it's clean and comfortable, which is what matters to me. I'll keep spending a few pleasant days here in the Harz Mountains and recommend the guesthouse.

We had such a lovely time with the Mückenheim family and are already planning to return over Easter. The hosts were very nice, and we had everything we needed. A special thank you for letting us bring our four dogs. We're really looking forward to coming back soon! ☺
