Bahnhof Oberkirch

We were a large group, and breakfast was lovely: platters and bread baskets came out for us, with great coffee and eggs made to order. We also had dinner at the restaurant, where they easily accommodated vegetarian and gluten-free diners. It was a special meal. In July 2024, the hotel was also a stop on the Oberkirch Wine Hike, and the wine and dishes served were incredible. We tried mushroom pasta or trout. The owners have transformed the historic train station into a stylish hotel with a train theme. The rooms are huge, the beds comfortable, and the walls have interesting textures. They’ve put so much into this Oberkirch landmark, and every corner feels inviting.

The restaurant was really good, and it had the best burger I’ve had in recent memory. The staff were very friendly too. For the location and price, the updated hotel is a nice option. One thing I missed before booking: the hotel closes between 11-2 pm. It’s mentioned on the website, but I hadn’t checked it.

Everything felt brand new, so the hotel must be quite recent. I liked the interior style, and the room was really nice. The bed was comfortable, the shower great, and breakfast excellent. It’s right next to the train station, but closing the windows kept the sound barely noticeable. We had no noise issues overnight.

The center is close by, with plenty to see and enough shops for daily needs or a postcard for the family ;). There’s also parking near the hotel. The rooms were quiet, clean, and roomy. Breakfast was good, with very good coffee and plenty of seating both inside and outside. Staff were friendly and helpful, and gave us enough information about things to do nearby. I’d recommend both the restaurant and the hotel. Thanks for your help, and maybe till next time!
