The setting is the real magic here. You can hear the waterfall running in front of the apartment, and at night the whole galaxy seems to show up in the sky. It’s tucked away in a valley among mountains, with orderly rows of wine grapes on one slope. The five-minute drive from the highway along a small road already makes the place feel wonderfully hidden from traffic and other pollution. The ground floor has a medieval pub-style party room, with a fine collection of wines, spirits, schnubs and more. We booked because the price was friendlier and the photos made the apartment look new. It turned out to be brand new, modern, and fitted with up-to-date facilities, including high-tech kitchen and bathroom fixtures. The building contains two apartments. The owners live next door in their own old-style house. Lady Marianne and her husband were exceptionally polite, caring and hospitable. There’s also a very pretty, happy, active sausage dog. I’ve forgotten his name, but be sure to meet this character when you visit. It’s furnished down to the toilet roll, with a coffee machine and a modern kitchen, so you don’t need to bring anything. I’d strongly recommend it to married couples looking for a romantic honeymoon spot, and the larger apartment should suit a family with children or up to three people. I’d definitely visit again. A modern heaven deep in Grimm's fairytale land.

Lovely rooms in a clean, quiet place with lots of nature around.

We’ve been here a few times for birthday parties and company events. The Huber family are wonderful hosts, the setting is attractive, and the food has been delicious. We’ll come again.

We have to leave tomorrow, which is a shame. This quiet holiday apartment has a balcony that’s lovely for spending the evening, and the family is incredibly attentive, friendly and nice. Fritz the dachshund is especially lovely. There are only two apartments, so it stays pleasantly peaceful. The surroundings feel natural and cozy, and it’s easy to explore the Black Forest from here. Our apartment was thoughtfully furnished and very well equipped. We’ll definitely be back.
