Gstehaus Eberle

We chose apartment 1 for our ski holiday for the second time, and being right in the town center is a big part of its appeal. The balcony has a breathtaking view. The bathrooms are completely new this year, and the rest of the place feels cozy and is laid out well. Every day, the Oberstaufen Plus Card gives you four hours at a ski area, or you can choose the thermal baths, including the sauna. You can see the baths from the balcony. For what you get, the price is unbeatable.

The Eberle family were such friendly, accommodating hosts, and their apartment had everything we needed. We were there with our dog on our honeymoon, and the mountain views from the balcony were breathtaking. There’s so much to do in Oberstaufen and the surrounding area, and we had a perfect holiday. We’ll definitely be back.

We found a last-minute apartment on the second floor during the Carnival holidays after someone cancelled, and it worked out really well. The location was fantastic, right in the town center, two minutes from the swimming pool and two minutes the other way to the ski bus. The view was lovely, too. The one-bedroom apartment had enough room for us and our four- and seven-year-old children, who slept on the living room sofa bed. It was -15°C, but the heating was incredibly powerful. The furnishings were complete and practical, with some brand-new pieces. The ski areas are very child-friendly. We’ve never had such an affordable ski trip and managed to ski and swim so much.

Oberstaufen is a beautiful place for a holiday, but the accommodation needs to be good. The whole house smelled musty, and we had to burn scented candles day and night just to use the bathroom. Even the towels smelled musty. The balcony furniture was dusty and tucked in a corner, so we had to clean it ourselves. Paying guests should find everything in top condition. We also cleaned dust bunnies out of the kitchen while we were at it. The pillows were unacceptable.
