That apple shortcake was excellent, and I was glad they had oat milk for the cappuccino. The rest of the visit, though, was disappointing. Our waffles were cold and very dry, and the €7.50 price felt far too high for that quality. The cappuccino came much later. We'd stopped in after a nice Sunday walk and found a sunny spot on the terrace, with a view of the greenery. The restaurant itself has a charming, rustic look inside. But the staff left a bad impression from the start. We were seated near two young men, and when they said they didn't need a receipt after paying, the waiter groaned, scrunched it up, tossed it onto our table without a word, and walked off. The disinterest and rudeness continued during our visit. We wouldn't come back. There are much better places to eat in the Bergisches Land.

The fish served on salad was delicious. We got there around 2 PM, but the kitchen staff were on their lunch break, so the menu was limited. The food was okay overall, though my children thought the Wiener Schnitzel was below average.

The Bergisch trout was the best fish I've ever had. I had it with boiled potatoes and salad, and it was delicious. We enjoyed our meal outside in the sunshine, with a Cologne beer and regional white wine. Such a lovely spot 🔆

A charming rustic restaurant in the Bergisches Land, with equally pleasant places to sit indoors or outside. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the menu has both traditional dishes and more unusual choices.
