I was there for nine-pin bowling and food in the evening, not for the hotel. The bowling alley is standard, nothing to complain about. The food was very good, with fresh ingredients and a regional focus.

The owner is a really nice, accommodating guy who keeps finding solutions to guests’ problems. Even if you arrive in the middle of the night, he’ll find a way to let you in. Breakfast and reception have restricted hours, though. There’s a bar and bowling on the ground floor, which makes for a lively evening out. Happily, no sound carries through to the rooms, so early sleepers needn’t worry. The rooms have the expected amenities but feel a bit old, and the hotel seems geared toward longer stays. The neighborhood is industrial, but there’s a nice vineyard area just across the road for runners and walkers. You can really get lost in there on a long run, don’t ask how I know.

The room was very nice, but hot as hell. Breakfast was fine. There weren’t many people working there, so I had to wait a while at the desk.

The food was delicious, especially the German dishes. There’s also a pool, a German bowling game, and a projector for watching football. A great place to stay.
