The pub beside reception had a lovely old wooden feel, and locals were in there playing cards and chatting. The woman working reception was there too, and her English made things much easier since I don't speak German. She was welcoming, polite, and really cool. Someone also brought in two adorable corgis. I stayed two nights for work. My room was cozy, the parking was large and free, and there was free Wi-Fi. On the top floor, you could get chilled still or sparkling water from a fridge, which was great after using the well-equipped gym. Breakfast had a huge selection and was phenomenal. The town was very quiet, though local people were out and there were plenty of little shops. The weather kept changing, with a bit of sun, dark clouds, freezing wind, rain, then blazing sunshine again. Still, I had a nice time. 🤘🍻

The place felt dark and depressing, and there was no tea, coffee, or iron in the room. I found the breakfast pretty ordinary, so I'm not sure why it gets so much praise. The fruit salad was simply bad. Staff treated customers more like pals than clients.

Breakfast was quite good, with enough variety and satisfying flavors. The beds were comfortable, though the rooms felt cramped, as if the bed was too large or the room too small. The building has some charm from its age, and there is free parking, a restaurant, and a small gym. My main problem was cleanliness. I like walking barefoot, but the floor was dusty, and I found spider webs behind the couch when I moved it. I brought this up at the front desk, but they didn't seem very concerned. The TV in my room also didn't work, and the poor sound insulation meant I could easily hear neighboring rooms. Service in Germany can come across as cold, though polite, efficient, and structured. As a foreigner, you might notice that, but I think it's just their way of doing things. I hope future guests have better luck.

The room was spacious, with plenty of sockets, a TV, and a hairdryer. The bathroom was roomy too, with modern decor. My only real complaint was the pillows. They were so soft they gave my head no support, and having both soft and firm options would be nice. I could also hear some noise since the room was next to the stairs and above the breakfast room. Staff were really friendly at check-in and spoke English. There wasn't any hot food available when we arrived, so I can't comment on that, but several places were open within walking distance. I didn't try the bar either. The fitness room looked okay for the limited space. I stayed one night. It's a nice hotel at a good price, with a good breakfast, in a quiet but lively German town. I was happy with the stay and am visiting the area again soon. This will be my first choice.

It was very comfortable, like staying with relatives, and we'll be back. The hotel was very clean, with free water bottles to take to the room and a good breakfast in the morning. There's free parking at the back, plus a great bar with delicious beer and good liqueur made in Oelde. Thank you so much!
