Hermes Hotel

The breakfast has lots to choose from, and the coffee is excellent. My husband especially enjoys the free beer and the hospitality. We always sleep well, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Email replies and the front desk have both been friendly and professional. Staying at the Hermes hotel is always an excellent experience. We’ll come back the next time we’re in Oldenburg.

After six hours of travel from Denmark, this was just what I needed. Having free drinks, coffee, and ice cream in the public areas really improved the stay. The room was pleasant, and the shower room was exceptionally clean.

The only small drawback was the internet, which was decent but sometimes slow. Otherwise, this is a high quality hotel at a reasonable price, right by the station and canal. My room was clean, solid, and modern. There was a good breakfast buffet with plenty of choices, and the front desk staff were efficient, pleasant, and spoke perfect English.

The staff were great and seemed willing to make anything possible, and breakfast had a convincing range of choices. But the walls are very thin. When the person next door showered, I got up to check whether it was happening in my room. That didn’t work for me. My towel wasn’t clean, either. The WiFi was incredibly slow at 5-7 MBit/s, though it sped up to around 40 MBit/s near midnight.
