The location was great, right in the city center, and my room was large, though it was a twin room. The hotel itself is very basic and may be cost effective, but there’s no shared area for working or spending time, no iron or ironing board, and no bar or food facilities. The desk is staffed only for short periods during the day. The internet also won’t support higher security VPNs.

The breakfast is varied and high quality, the free WiFi is quite OK, and the mattresses are new and sturdy. It still works well for business trips if you can live with the old, stained carpet in the rooms. The hotel is ageing, and it doesn't seem to have had much renovation or improvement since the 1980s.

The staff were really pleasant, and breakfast had plenty of fresh options. The hotel's own parking is right outside a side door, which is handy. Rooms are fine, especially if you like a firm mattress. The bathroom has a tub, a shower head and a hand nozzle with strong pressure and lots of hot water. Telekom WiFi worked well throughout the building. A great choice in Oldenburg.

I stayed five nights, and the towels and bedding were never changed once. Room service was terrible, and the WiFi was just as bad.
