Hotel Bigger Hof

Our group of retired professionals came from the UK for two nights on motorcycles, and the hotel caters for bikers. The recently refurbished rooms were very nice, and the location was OK, though the town itself doesn't have much to offer. Breakfast had a good choice and was much nicer than the very average dinner included in our package. The manager and bar restaurant staff were pretty awful. They insisted everything be done their way and spoke to us as if we were naughty children. We felt they couldn't wait to get rid of us. Interestingly, they were much nicer to a group of German bikers. I won't be back. The whole group shares my view, which we've also expressed in our club magazine's post-trip review.

About five minutes from Olsberg town centre, this is a pleasant little hotel. It's old but well maintained, and the basic rooms were clean, with a TV, heating, a basic bathroom, and a cupboard for storage. There is a restaurant serving dinner and complimentary continental breakfast. The German food was delicious, and the restaurant had good space for getting together with friends.

We were four people and stayed in the two-room apartment. The rooms were just right, and breakfast was fresh, simple, and very nice. The staff were friendly and lovely. We had a great stay.

********** This rating is for the pub/restaurant at the back of the hotel. ********* The pub/restaurant owner was rude. Before ordering, we checked with the waiter whether they took credit cards, and he said they did. After we'd sat down, the owner told our children they had to take off their shoes or they couldn't sit on the bench. Then, after the meal, he argued that they didn't accept credit cards, made us apologize, and added a surcharge to the payment. I wouldn't recommend the place. It definitely isn't child-friendly.
