A clean toilet, tasty food, and cake at a reasonable price made this a lovely stop after a hike. The service was friendly, and the owners were especially warm. I loved their Black Forest cake. I'd recommend stopping here if it falls along your hiking route.

The food is good, especially the Black Forest cake, and dogs are welcome. The people running the place were really nice, and the view when you arrive is great. Getting there means taking a narrow one-lane road, but it felt safe and very much like driving through the forest. Well worth the detour if you're nearby.

After a hike in the Black Forest, I’m always glad to find good food, and this place still managed to surprise me. The restaurant sits on a lovely hillside near Bad Peterstal, and ordering the Wildragout was the right call. The meat was tender and juicy, the reduction was perfectly seasoned with red pepper, and the Preiselbeeren sauce added a lovely contrast, fresh and sweet against the spice. It was beautifully presented, just as the attached photo shows. The Spätzle went perfectly with it.

The meal was the best we'd had during our week in the Black Forest, and everything exceeded our expectations. The location gives you a beautiful view for a romantic dinner. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout.

The views are amazing, and there's a lovely playground. They speak both English and German, and the service was amazing. The cakes are really good too 🙈
