Watching the big ships pass by is fantastic entertainment, and the location is great. The rooms are nice, the food was delicious once it arrived, and I would book again. Check-in was marred by a rude older lady, though, and service in the restaurant was incredibly slow and chaotic.

The view from this nice location was beautiful, but the service was really bad. We waited almost an hour for the four of us to get our food, which was far too long. Two of us ordered salad, and it was very disappointing, mostly lettuce that hadn't been washed with just a few tiny bits of vegetables. The black-haired lady was rude and impolite and should work on her attitude. Other people nearby started complaining too.

We had dinner there and the food was really great, with friendly service. Sitting outside is nice too, with a lovely view of the canal and the vessels going by.

We loved our stay. It was very clean, and there's a nice restaurant on-site. The canal setting is beautiful even though the surrounding area is a bit industrial. There's a short walk to a tunnel under the canal to Rendsburg, and the area is great for walking and biking. My wife lost a necklace and only realized a few weeks later. Mareike, the owner, emailed us and shipped it back free of charge. That's customer service!

The view over the NOK (Kiel Canal) couldn't be better. We enjoyed sitting outside with a beer and watching the ships. It's an excellent, well-run hotel, with very good service from a friendly team.
