We booked half board and paid for it, but when we arrived for dinner at 19:45, staff told us service had ended, even though dinner was listed as running from 18:00 to 20:00. They told us to eat elsewhere. At checkout, a blonde staff member who looked to be over 60 yelled that we still hadn't paid and that our room included breakfast but not dinner. We had to show the hotel payment record and our "half board" booking confirmation. If the hotel and booking platform aren't communicating properly, guests shouldn't be held responsible. Parking is also insufficient for a hotel with around 50 rooms. The room was very old, and I wouldn't consider it up to a 3-star standard.

That huge Linden tree in the middle of the outdoor deck really adds to the charm of this beautiful old hotel on the Rheine. You can feel the love, dreams, and care put in by seven generations of the family. We felt #Blessed to have come across this place.

We only ate at the restaurant, and the value for the price was really good. The food was tasty, the portions were huge, and the staff were very friendly and nice.
