Haus Antje

The location made getting around easy: five minutes on foot to the farmers' market, eight to the beach, and six to the lagoon harbor, unless you pause to look at the beautiful houses along the way. The hotel is on the main road, but traffic noise didn't bother us much, since it wasn't much louder than the sea or wind in the trees. We found the place clean and well cared for, with plenty of charm. We'd stayed at lots of hotels and guesthouses, and many hadn't been as lovely. Some guests had complaints, but we were very happy with our stay. You can't make everyone happy. The walk-in closet and quail eggs at breakfast were new to us. 😍 Weeds and cobwebs come back every night. 😆 We'd definitely return.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was acceptable, though only just. The room itself was clean and properly looked after. The problem was the broken bathroom fan. It sent the exhaust air back into the room, so there was always an unpleasant smell. I raised this several times, but was repeatedly told nothing could be done. We won't book here again.

We stayed at Haus Antje for a week and felt very comfortable, so we'd happily come back. The breakfast selection was modest, but quite enough.

The little details around the hotel make it feel so cozy, almost like home. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly, kind, and hardworking. They made fresh scrambled or fried eggs when asked, which were really tasty. Big compliments to the kitchen for that service! The hotel is super cute and in a great spot. I'd love to return, and definitely recommend it. 🫶
