Villa Meeresgold

The landlord is excellent to deal with. Anything missing or broken gets sorted or repaired right away, which is fantastic. This is our second stay, and both apartments we’re using are stylish and a good size for four people at 80 square meters each. We’re on the third floor, looking out over the Baltic Sea and the pedestrianized main street with its promenade. The beach and pier are around 200 meters away, just a 3-4 minute walk.

We stayed in the Seeblick apartment at Villa Meeresgold in Binz from June 8, 2019, to June 21, 2019, and the stay didn’t meet our expectations. The place is central and spacious, with a lovely Baltic Sea view, but most of the amenities felt worn, apart from the multimedia equipment and stove. The water pressure was very poor. Turning on the sink tap made water drip from the showerhead, with major temperature swings. The fridge hummed loudly and its bulb was out, as was another bulb. Management tried to address the problems when we asked: one bulb was replaced, and they cleaned my suitcase after it got very dirty from being stored on the wardrobe. But only the specific issues we mentioned were fixed, apart from the water pressure. The fridge and hallway bulbs were still out when we left. It seems we had to report every fault one by one; a thorough check would have helped. The overall cleanliness also left a lot to be desired. We found a pill on a bedroom carpet and a T-shirt behind the heater, both things a proper final clean should have caught. The wallpaper was past its best, and there were defects in every room. We can’t agree with the positive reviews.

Booking was easy, the contact was great, and the room matched its description. The balcony was the best part. But with a €40 final cleaning fee, I don’t expect to have to take out the rubbish and strip the beds myself. The written request left in the room, with a friendly reminder about possible extra charges, felt very unpleasant.

The place was well equipped and centrally located. We misplaced the key, and the owner was there within 15 minutes. Thanks!
