The campsite staff were friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to get to the beaches and steam train station. My dog loved the nearby dog beaches, which were clean and sandy. Finding things on site was harder: the toilets shown beside the tent area on the map were closed, though the map didn’t say so, and the next toilets were quite a walk away. Signage could be better overall; even with the map, it took me ages to find toilets and water that first evening. At night, some bicycles sped through without lights. My dog and I were nearly hit twice, so notices or guidance about cycling safely through the site would help.

For a tent, the price was good, and the site was clean, with good services and a nice location. The shower was a downside: it runs for only 3 minutes, then you have to wait 2 minutes before warm water is available again. There were no waste bins.

A comfortable, really nice campsite right by the beach. There are activities every day, and it’s welcoming to kids and dogs.
